CAP Sustainability
As a testament to CAP’s commitment to sustainability, the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality has admitted CAP into its Voluntary Environmental Stewardship Program (VESP) at the highest Platinum Level. As of its 2020 award, CAP joined an elite rank of only six other organizations in Arizona, including APS, Fairmont Scottsdale Princess, Freeport-McMoRan, Honeywell Aerospace, Intel and Ping.
The platinum designation recognizes those organizations that truly go above-and-beyond legal requirements.
For CAP, this includes:
ECO Team
CAP’s employee-led ECO Team has implemented an award-winning recycling, commodity recovery and landfill-diversion program.
WaterSense Partnership
CAP has been a longtime partner with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s WaterSense program.
Multi-Species Conservation Program
A comprehensive program for the protection of 27 covered species and their habitat in the Lower Colorado River Basin.
Climate Adaption Plan
The plan provides a framework for climate impact assessment and adaptation options for the CAP.
Colorado River Water Quality
CAP works to protect and improve water quality in the Colorado River system through a pair of collaborative efforts.
