The Selection Process.

Once you apply for a posted position, you will receive an e-mail notification that your application has been received.  Applicants meeting the minimum qualifications will be forwarded to the hiring supervisor for review.  Applications are screened in relation to the position criteria stated in the job announcement. The hiring department will contact only the applicants they select to interview. Their selection is based on applicants with the most relevant experience. After the interview process, all candidates who were interviewed will be notified of their status by phone or in writing.

Employment Policy.
CAP Employee

Applicants are considered solely on the basis of their qualifications required for the position they seek without regard to race, color, creed, sex, religion, national origin, age, physical/mental handicap, veteran status, or political affiliation. To be considered for employment, applicants must be able to perform the essential duties of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation. Applicants are responsible to accurately describe educational and work experience in sufficient detail to support the qualifications required for the position.   If the information an applicant provides is found to be false or misleading after obtaining employment with CAP, the applicant's employment may be terminated.

Central Arizona Project supports a drug-free workplace.

After an employment offer is made, external applicants for safety sensitive positions will be required to take and pass a drug test.  In addition, some positions will be required to pass a physical abilities test.  Employment will be contingent upon successful completion of these tests and any other required pre-employment testing, as well as consideration of background, reference, and other job-related selection information.

NOTICE:  CAP PARTICIPATES IN E-VERIFY
CAP Employees

CAP will provide the Social Security Administration (SSA) and, if necessary, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), with information from each new employee's Form I-9 to confirm work authorization.  IMPORTANT: If the Government cannot confirm that you are authorized to work, this employer is required to provide you written instructions and an opportunity to contact SSA and/or DHS before taking adverse action against you, including terminating your employment. Employers may not use E-Verify to pre-screen job applicants or to re-verify current employees and may not limit or influence the choice of documents presented for use on the Form I-9. If you believe that your employer has violated its responsibilities under this program or has discriminated against you during the verification process based upon your national origin or citizenship status, please call the Office of Special Counsel for Immigration Related Unfair Employment Practices at 1-800-255-7688 (TDD: 1-800-237-2515). For more information on E-Verify, please contact DHS at: 1-888-464-4218.
