Access to Excess

Excess CAP water is a specifically defined category of Project Water that is available for delivery one year at a time.  In general, the demand for this supply has been increasing, at the same time that its overall availability is decreasing.  For 2009 orders, the CAWCD Board implemented a one-time policy to adjust orders to match projected supply.  The Board also directed Staff to work with stakeholders to develop guidelines for the future distribution of that excess water. If approved by the Board, guidelines will provide greater predictability for both CAP and its customers.
