CAP Changes Administrative Days/Hours
Adopting a 4 day, 10 hour work week
Effective June 5, 2011, Central Arizona Project will be implementing a "Green Friday" business schedule. CAP staff will work 10-hour shifts on Monday through Thursday. CAP offices will be closed on Fridays. To accommodate differing job responsibilities, CAP's operating hours will be Monday through Thursday 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. CAP's main phone line and reception desk hours are 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. The new work schedule will not impact scheduled water deliveries. The Control Center will remain operational 7 days a week/24 hours a day.
Closing CAP offices on Fridays will reduce costs and supports CAP's commitment to good environmental management practices. Many organizations within the CAP service area have successfully implemented "Green Friday" schedules. The schedule will not affect CAP's efforts in accommodating special tours or previously arranged meetings or events.
Questions about the new schedule may be directed to GreenFridays@cap-az.com.
CAP is the steward of central Arizona's Colorado River water entitlement and a collaborative leader in Arizona's water community. The 336-mile-long CAP system brings about 1.6 million acre-feet of renewable Colorado River water to its customers -- cities, businesses, agriculture and Indian communities -- in Pima, Pinal and Maricopa counties. An acre-foot of water is about 326,000 gallons.
