Here in Central and Southern Arizona, we take our “fall cues” from the presence of pumpkin spice lattes, honeycrisp apples and Halloween decorations. But in other parts of the country – especially in our Colorado River Basin – fall makes itself known with yellow, red and orange leaves. And with that, frost leads to snow. . .even in October.
So, don a sweater and breathe in the sights of fall, as well as a hint of the snow that may ultimately melt into Arizona’s water supply. Special thanks to our friends at Northern Water where many of these photos were taken.
The Colorado River Basin watershed includes seven U.S. states (Arizona, California, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming) and a portion of Mexico. Curious about how water from the Colorado River Basin gets to CAP? Take a look here!
