Lace up those sneakers and hiking boots and start training for the 12th Annual Dam Good Run to be held Sunday, April 24 at Lake Pleasant Regional Park. Whether you want to have a stroll or strenuous exercise, there’s something for runners, walkers and hikers of all ages and abilities:

  • Dam Fun (2-mile)
  • Dam Challenging (4-mile)
  • Dam Tough (8-mile)
  • Dam Crazy (26K)
  • Dam Insane (40 K)

This is the only day of the year when park patrons are allowed to hike atop the New Waddell Dam to see the lake’s beauty from a completely different perspective. The event was initially planned by a Lake Pleasant park ranger to engage families and those interested in living a healthy lifestyle to connect with nature. The event became reality after representatives from Lake Pleasant Regional Park, Central Arizona Project and the Bureau of Reclamation came together and brought this event to life.

The 26K Crazy course and the 40K Insane course are new this year. These courses will begin at 7 a.m. and the other three will start at 8 a.m. All courses, except for the two-mile, will cross over the New Waddell Dam near the start of the event at the 10 Lane East parking lot area.
