BOARD MEMBER - MARICOPA
April Pinger-Tornquist was elected to a six-year term on the CAWCD Board of Directors representing Maricopa County in November 2018. She is a near native Arizonan, growing up in Mesa and earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Arizona in Tucson. She has pursued a career as Research and Development engineer in a number of industries including alternative power, medical, ballistic, crash attenuation, and aerospace. She also owns an engineering consulting business, PingOne Engineering Design Services, helping inventors develop and build prototypes. She has served as a Precinct Committeeman and treasurer for the 12th Legislative District for five years.
April has six children, three of whom are married, and currently three grandchildren who all reside in Maricopa County. She is active in her church and enjoys singing, piano, drawing and painting, camping, hiking, and all time on Lake Powell she can get with her family.
