Water Supply
CAP delivers water from the Colorado River and holds the junior priority entitlement in Arizona and the Lower Colorado River Basin. Because of the junior priority, CAP’s supply is most vulnerable to shortages and reductions. Shortages on the river are caused by lack of precipitation and increased demands by water users dependent on the river.
