The Selection Process
Once you apply online for a posted position, you will receive an email notification that your application has been received. Applicants appearing to meet the minimum qualifications will be forwarded to the hiring manager for review. Applications are screened in relation to the position criteria stated in the job announcement and on the position description. Applicants who are selected to move forward in the evaluation process will be contacted by email, text, or phone to schedule their interviews. Once an employment offer is accepted by a candidate, then CAP will notify all candidates with the position update via email.
Employment Policy
Applicants are considered solely on the basis of their qualifications required for the position they seek without regard to race, color, creed, sex, religion, national origin, age, physical/mental handicap, veteran status, or political affiliation. To be considered for employment, applicants must be able to perform the essential duties of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation. Applicants are responsible to accurately describe educational and work experience in sufficient detail to support the qualifications required for the position.
Central Arizona Project supports a drug-free workplace
After an employment offer is made, external applicants for safety sensitive positions will be required to take and pass a drug test. In addition, some positions will be required to pass a physical abilities test. Employment will be contingent upon successful completion of these tests and any other required pre-employment testing, as well as consideration of background, reference, and other job-related selection information.

E-Verify Information
CAP will provide the Social Security Administration (SSA) and, if necessary, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), with information from each new employee’s Form I-9 to confirm work authorization. IMPORTANT: If the Government cannot confirm that you are authorized to work, this employer is required to provide you written instructions and an opportunity to contact SSA and/or DHS before taking adverse action against you, including terminating your employment. Employers may not use E-Verify to pre-screen job applicants or to re-verify current employees and may not limit or influence the choice of documents presented for use on the Form I-9. If you believe that your employer has violated its responsibilities under this program or has discriminated against you during the verification process based upon your national origin or citizenship status, please call the Office of Special Counsel for Immigration Related Unfair Employment Practices at 1-800-255-7688 (TDD: 1-800-237-2515). For more information on E-Verify, please contact DHS at: 1-888-464-4218.
